Maison&Objet returns to Paris Nord Villepinte from September 10 to 14, and the fair has chosen an unusually kinetic theme for its autumn edition: "Pulse in Motion." It's a phrase that could easily read as marketing filler, but the programme behind it suggests the organisers mean it structurally. Seven sectors, from Decor & Design to Cook & Share, have each been asked to interpret momentum in their own material terms, whether that's a lighting installation, a retail concept, or a dinner table.

The most visible signal of the theme comes from Masquespacio, the Valencia-based studio named ambassador of both Maison&Objet Pulse and the concurrent Paris Design Week. The duo has designed the edition's poster as a split, dual-perspective image and will present two installations, one inside the fair, one out in the city, extending their visual language beyond a single stand. Studios rarely get handed both the fair's identity and its public face in the same season, so it's worth watching how Masquespacio's saturated, theatrical style translates into a trade show context built for sourcing rather than spectacle.

Elsewhere on the floor, the fair is leaning into anniversaries as much as launches. MOM, the platform that extends Maison&Objet's sourcing tools online, marks ten years with an anniversary exhibition and an immersive experience in Hall 6\. The Accor Design Awards celebrate a decade of hospitality design talent. And Cristel, the French cookware house, is marking two hundred years with an exhibition at the entrance to Hall 4, a reminder that a fair built around discovery still runs on houses that have been quietly making things since before the concept of "design fairs" existed.

The Decor & Design sector keeps its usual scouting functions intact. Design District, curated by Hall Haus, gathers emerging studios exploring new relationships between form and material. Future On Stage names its 2026 winners, Baguette Studio, LightMass, and Risette, recognised for work in objects, lighting, and experience design. The Rising Talent Awards turn their attention to South Africa this edition, spotlighting a design scene shaped by craftsmanship and cultural heritage that rarely gets this kind of trade-show platform.

Paris Design Week runs alongside the fair from September 10 to 19, extending the conversation into galleries and showrooms across the city for a full week after the exhibition halls close. For a publication that tracks how design moves from trade floor to living room, this is the closest thing the calendar offers to a single, condensed preview of where residential and hospitality interiors are heading this autumn. Worth watching, in other words, not just for what gets launched, but for what gets repeated across enough stands to count as a signal.
